NuDay in the Park is the event of the year that celebrates the spirit of community in both the Union-Miles and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods. Families and friends join together with food, music, and small businesses that representing the community. This tradition has been celebrated for many years – welcoming over 20,000 families to the neighborhood since it began.

This one-day celebration of culture, music, health, and family gatherings shows the passion for community in these neighborhoods. And it’s as an open invite for anyone to visit Cleveland and experience joy in togetherness.

Planting Pride in Union-Miles

The Miles Avenue Community Garden has deep roots in Union-Miles. It was once part of a local school site where children learned to plant and harvest vegetables. Community members like Crawford Pickens have kept that legacy alive through decades of hard work, generosity, and connection to the land.

Pickens first joined this garden in the early 2000s and now leads its 30-member community, many of whom have tended their plots for years. The garden is a symbol of enduring neighborhood pride, belonging, and hope for future growth.
