Built in 1908, Brookside Stadium is one of Cleveland’s hidden historic landmarks. Nestled within Brookside Reservation, the stadium has welcomed generations of athletes, students, and spectators for more than a century. Today, it remains an active community space while offering a glimpse into the neighborhood’s history. It’s the kind of place you might stumble upon during a walk through the park and leave wondering how you never knew it was there.
Community-Led Creativity
One of the neighborhood’s gathering spaces is the Art Garden, a public art initiative transforming vacant lots into places for creativity, connection and community pride. Colorful murals, sculptures and public art installations bring new energy to the neighborhood while creating opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their work.

The Stockyards neighborhood is served by MetroWest Community Development Organization which also serves the nearby Clark-Fulton and Brooklyn Centre neighborhoods. Their mission is to revitalize these three neighborhoods, celebrate their history and strengthen collaboration, diversity and redevelopment. Metro West CDO puts collaboration at the forefront of their work. They are positioned to effectively facilitate conversations between residents, stakeholders and community partners while supporting neighborhood based initiatives.
