What is a “middle neighborhood”?
Most Clevelanders live in a “middle neighborhood” that is often overlooked. Some hot neighborhoods get private sector attention, and other disinvested neighborhoods get public investments... But middle neighborhoods are full of people who love their communities, too, and want to see progress for them.

Collinwood, Lee-Harvard, Old Brooklyn and West Park are four middle neighborhoods in Cleveland with bright days ahead. These communities already have great homes, local businesses, and neighbors who care! Clevelanders are building on these strengths to push their neighborhoods from surviving to thriving.
Investing in middle neighborhoods
Intentional investments are happening right now. The Middle Neighborhoods Initiative is a collaborative team of people from nonprofits, neighborhoods, and the City of Cleveland to renovate 200+ historic homes and commercial storefronts. These are intentional efforts to add to these neighborhoods’ cultures and preserve their affordable housing.
You can be part of this progress by visiting a small business or considering a home in West Park, Old Brooklyn, Lee-Harvard, or Collinwood!
