Join us at the first two films of our ongoing 2025 Slovenian Film Festival, brought to Cleveland by the Slovenian Consulate General of Cleveland, the Slovenian Film Center, The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia and other local partners. The first film, Dedek Gre na Jug (Grandpa Goes South; 2022; in Slovenian with English subtitles) is a heartwarming and humorous tale of friendship, love, and self-discovery. It tells the adventures of two elderly musicians who go on a journey to find lost love. This film will be shown on Thursday, February 27, at 7:00pm at Cleveland State University. This event is being presented in cooperation with the Cleveland Kurentovanje festival. Registration is a must for this film. The second film of our festival, Odrešitev za začetnike (Family Therapy; 2024; in Slovenian with English subtitles) is a dark comedy that uses humor to tell a story of family dysfunction within the context of current social issues. This film will be shown on Saturday, March 8, at 4:00pm at the Cleveland Cinematheque/CIA, 11610 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland.
