Rock Hall Live returns this summer with must-see performances. Don't miss Kim Gordon live on the lakefront Sunday, June 21st. Renowned for her mesmerizing, confrontational live performances, Kim Gordon has long treated the stage as an extension of her art. The New York Times described the Sonic Youth co-founder as someone who “approaches the mic as a poet of modern life,” channeling abstract, spoken vocals that capture both the banality and volatility of the present moment. Whether fronting a full band or commanding space with minimalism, Gordon’s shows are defined by tension, release, and a sense of unpredictability that remains uniquely her own. Since launching her solo career with 2019’s No Home Record—which The Guardian said “brilliantly weds noise textures to pop dynamics”—Gordon has brought that same intensity to stages worldwide, including Primavera Sound, Riot Fest, and Corona Capital. Her 2024 album The Collective, created with producers Justin Raisen and Anthony Paul Lopez, earned two Grammy nominations, with live sets from the project widely praised as “relentless” and “cathartic.” Most recently, Gordon released her third solo album, PLAY ME. She continues to tour globally through 2026, delivering performances that reaffirm her status as one of contemporary music’s most compelling and uncompromising live artists.
