Back to School Weekend: Recess After Dark Celebrate the end of summer with Back to School Weekend at Jolene's, featuring Recess After Dark, an adults-only throwback party on Friday, August 21st beginning at 8:00 PM. Guests are invited to relive their favorite school memories with nostalgic food, drinks, games, music, and interactive experiences—all while supporting a great cause. The weekend is proudly sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, with product sampling available from 8:00–10:00 PM on Friday. Guests who show a photo from their school days will receive free shoe rental, encouraging everyone to embrace the back-to-school theme. Throughout the weekend, attendees can give back by donating school supplies to Shoes and Clothes for Kids, helping local students prepare for the upcoming school year. Donations of pencils, pens, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and highlighters will be collected during the event, while guests can also support the organization by rounding up their purchases at Corner Allley throughout the month of August. The patio will feature a variety of local vendors, including permanent jewelry, vintage clothing, and a Swedish candy cart, creating a fun shopping experience alongside the festivities. A live DJ will keep the party going throughout the evening with nostalgic throwback hits. Guests can also enjoy a special Back to School Weekend menu inspired by childhood favorites, including themed cocktails like Caprisun Coolers, and nostalgic snacks such as pizza bagels, shaped chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, corn dogs, and sweet treats like funnel fries. Recess After Dark is the perfect opportunity for adults to reconnect with their childhood, enjoy a night out with friends, and make a difference for local students before the new school year begins.
