As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Cleveland celebrates 230 years of history, this engaging workshop explores Cleveland's unique contributions to the American story. Participants will examine how the city's industrial innovation, immigration and migration patterns, civil rights activism, arts and culture, sports achievements, and community leadership have shaped both local and national history. Through historical narratives, photographs, maps, and interactive discussion, attendees will discover how Cleveland reflects broader themes of opportunity, resilience, democracy, and social change. This session will inspire participants to see their own communities as important chapters in America's ongoing story and provide practical ideas for preserving and sharing local history for future generations.
