The City of Cleveland proudly announces its third annual Black History Month exhibition, celebrating the national theme, African Americans and Labor. This year’s exhibit, titled Artists Run the Streets™ BHMX Edition: Black History Month Excellence, highlights the profound impact of labor through the lens of six talented Cleveland artists.
Curated by the For Art’s Sake artist collective, led by branding, design, and marketing visionary Kumar Arora, a Transformative Arts Fund Awardee, the exhibition brings together works that align with the national theme. Featuring the thought-provoking artistry of Christa Freehands, Chris Goody, Ryan Harris, Mike Miller, Sampson Smiley, and Lacy Talley, the exhibition honors the resilience of Cleveland’s Black community while inspiring fresh perspectives on art, economy, and community.
This curated installation combines visual narratives and interactive elements to spark dialogue, reflection, and connection. Attendees will explore how each artist interprets labor and legacy, diving into themes of perseverance, identity, and pride.
