Celebrate an American Legend

The Jesse Owens Oak Tree, an important piece of American history rooted in Old Brooklyn, stands as a testament to perseverance and excellence. During the Berlin Olympic Games, Jesse Owens shocked the world by clinching four gold medals in four different events and was awarded four oak trees symbolizing each of them. The prominent trackstar decided to plant one behind Rhodes High School where he used to train in Old Brooklyn. It has been preserved through grafting by Rhodes High School. Pay tribute to Owens’ legacy and achievements and reflect on this iconic moment in U.S. history at this memorial in Old Brooklyn.
