General Event Info: VICKI RUMMLERVictoria (Vicki) Rummler is a jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter and pianist based in Paris. Her artistry is characterized by an impressive range, creative use of sound, and a stage presence that runs the gamut from poignant to playful.Born near Detroit, Vicki has studied piano, clarinet, guitar, dance, theater, composition, and production, including a BA in Music from Williams College. Since moving to Europe twenty-odd years ago, she has performed with a cabaret group in Munich, honed her vocal craft in the legendary jazz clubs of the City of Light, and worked with singers and composers of all stripes. She tours and records with the cutting-edge electro a cappella group Les Grandes Gueules (Sony BMG) and the prestigious Parisian vocal big band, the Voice Messengers (Black and Blue).This background in vocal harmony and multi-cultural life experience have nurtured Vickis solo work. Her first album of original tunes and standards, Twinkle (Pitch Puppy Productions), was released in 2004. Her sophomore album, am I am (Juste Une Trace/Socadisc, 2011), is a jazz-pop collection that reflects her eclectic musical influences. Take Two (Blue Moon Inner Jazz/Socadisc, 2017) is a series of duets with the finest guitarists on the current scene (including Lionel Loueke and Nguyn L), in homage to the silver screen. Her latest project, Leaps and Bounds (Juste Une Trace/Socadisc, 2022), is a collection of cabin songs written during a wilderness artist residency in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA.Widely known as a diverse and generous artist, Vicki Rummler also conducts clinics in vocal technique, the history of vocal jazz, and creative singing, in which students experiment with sound, breathing, vibrato, diction and arrangements to craft their own unique vocal styles.Joining Victoria Rummler at The Treelawn is renowned guitarist Bobby Ferrazza.
